Inauguration of the Commando Battalion Camp
Biswanath, Sept 4: In a significant move to bolster the capability of the assam police, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Inaugurated A Cutting-Ede Commando Battalion Camp in Dying, Located in the Pabhoi ARAA ARAA ARAA AARATHHO AAREA ARAATHHO District, Near the Assam-Arunachal Border.
This facility marks the fifth commando battalion established as part of the state government’s initiative aimed at modernizing and enhancing the efficiency of the assam police.
Among the five districts designed for these Commando Battalion Camps – Karbi Anglong, Hailakandi, Charaideo, Sadiya, and Biswanath -thee Biswanath Unit Is the first to be Completed and Opeccialy Opened.
Spanning 218 bighas and constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 177 Crore, this state-of-up-the-art facility is designed to house up to 400 personnel.
The Campus Boasts Modern Anems, Including a Helipad, Sports and Parade Grounds, A Community Center, namgharA Contemporary Computer Lab, A School for Police Personnel’s Children, A 10-Bed Hospital for Officers and their Families, and Advanced Fire Safety Systems, Among Other Features.

The inauguration date holds history Significance, as it marks the anniversary of a tragic Event in 2009 when 12 innocent civilians were killed by killed by Milits from the National Democratic Fort of Borolaland (ndfbb) Bhimajuli, just three kilometers from the new battalion site.
