The work is affected after the suspension of seven officers in the state tax department. The state tax department, which is already facing shortage of officers, is now ready to distribute responsibilities. Some officials on leave are being called back to take charge.
The remaining Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and State Tax Officers have been approved to give additional charge from the high command. Six more GST officers investigating the case were suspended along with Block 1 Deputy Commissioner Kamlesh Kumar on allegations of harassment in the state tax department.
The suspended officers include four Deputy Commissioners, two Assistant Commissioners and one CTO. The functioning of the State Tax Department is being affected by the suspension of a large number of officers. Two mobile teams, one SIB unit and three sections have been empty. Administrative work is also being affected along with tax collection. Departmental officers are giving responsibility to other officers for the vacant posts to smooth the work. Officers on leave have been called back.
DC administration is preparing to give additional charge of DC Kamlesh Kumar of Block I Black 1. The responsibility of DC Sanjeev Kumar of Block Five will be given to DC Pradyuman Gupta. The responsibility of AC Pooja Gautam is being given to Nilesh. Other officers are also being combined to vacant posts.
Joint Commissioner Executive State Tax Department Ramesh Singh said that until new officers are found, the remaining officers are being given additional responsibility. The list has been sent to the officials to Aligarh work. As soon as the permission is received, the concerned officials will be given charge.
