On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet President Droupadi Murmu, extending heartfelt Diwali wishes. The President’s office shared images of the meeting on social media, showing Modi presenting a bouquet to the President. Earlier in the day, Modi took to social media to wish the nation a happy Diwali, tweeting, “On this auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my warm wishes. May this festival of lights illuminate our lives with harmony, joy, and prosperity, and may positivity surround us all.”

Celebrating Diwali with the Indian Navy

As part of the grand celebrations, Prime Minister Modi also celebrated Diwali aboard the indigenously built aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, alongside Indian Navy personnel. Addressing the naval officers and sailors, he praised the strategic significance of the warship, stating, “The name INS Vikrant alone has kept Pakistan awake at night. If just its name can demoralize the enemy, it is indeed INS Vikrant.” Reflecting on the moment, Modi expressed, “Today is a remarkable day. This sight is unforgettable. On one side, I see the ocean, and on the other, the strength of the brave soldiers of Mother India.” The Prime Minister’s Diwali celebration aboard INS Vikrant symbolizes India’s growing maritime strength and the dedication of its armed forces, making this year’s festival even more special.
